Located in Custer State Park, in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Near Mount Rushmore National Monument, historic Deadwood, and many more area attractions. Located along Galena Creek, Legion Lake Lodge dates back to 1913 when Custer State Park was a game preserve in the Custer State Forest. At that time, the area was leased by the local American Legion post, and thus the basis for the lodges name. Mirroring the ponderosa pines and sheer rock walls, Legion Lake offers wonderful photo Opportunities. It is a natural water stop for the Parks wildlife. Cottages are nestled in the pines at this lake lodge.
