Grocery store floral shops are a great place to save money on your wedding. These shops employ trained florists who can order just about any kind of flowers you'd like but at significantly lower prices than traditional flower shops. Before you commit to using one, however, check it out thoroughly. Look through their photo albums of weddings they've done and ask for references--just like you would do for any wedding vendor you're considering. Larger supermarket chains offer discounts if you purchase your flowers in their floral shop and your wedding cake in their bakery department.
Complement your floral arrangements--and save big money--by renting potted trees from a local nursery to decorate your wedding and/or reception venue. The nursery should deliver and set up the trees before the wedding and pick them up the next day. For a dramatic look, cover the pots in shiny or decorative paper and wrap the branches in twinkle lights.
