Concerning the tip on how a bride can save money. I recommend that a bride plan ahead. What I mean by that is if a bride plans ahead and books / purchases all things well in advance they may avoid price increases that often come during peak wedding seasons.
Brides and Grooms "should not be afraid" to ask for discounts if booking / purchasing things in advance. Another advantage to getting things lined out well in advance is, if there are any problems with any items purchased or ordered, there is time to get the item corrected and in many cases save on extra shipping costs (such as Next Day Air and Etc.).
The reasons we encourage our potential clients to book our services in advance: Number 1- is to assure we have that date open.
Number 2- is to avoid last minute booking fees that some charge.
They should ask if any extras are included in the price. For instance like dance lighting and bubble machines. We usually include these things in our pricing at NO EXTRA CHARGE.
Most importantly they should read the fine print before signing ANY contracts or purchase agreements. There may be hidden costs they don't expect or terms that state extra charges will be charged if payments aren't made by deadlines.
1. eliminate the champagne toast, you can toast with wine as well as water
2. counsel the bride not to rush out to by her dress. Take time to look, wait for sales, or even ask to by the floor sample, not to forget to use the internet.
3.Use your talented friends for ideas and help. The more you do yourself, the more you save.
Time of day is important since it can dictate the cost of the food served. Why not use a decorated dummy cake and serve home made sheet cakes sliced in the kitchen?
Today's brides are lucky to have access to treasures that only 10 years ago would have been impossible. Just think about the enormous opportunity available on the Internet. Obviously the modern bride can save a lot of money by buying directly from the manufacturer or the service provider. But this is only the tip of the iceberg. With the introduction of online auctions such as Ebay, Yahoo, Amazon and Best Wedding Auction, today's bride can practically name her price and have fun in the process.
On line auctions offer brides not only incredible value, but everything from wedding gifts and accessories to home furnishing and even romantic honeymoon destinations and all that at a fraction of their usual cost.
..to get married during "off season", not may-sept. lots of vendors get competitive during off season and cut great deals. also, plan way in advance as much as possible to shop around for great deals and always consult with a wedding coordinator with an excellent reputation who will tell you the truth on where not to cut corners as well as how to save money on the not so important stuff. i always recommend that brides do not try to go with friends on important stuff, such as the photographer, videographer and d.j. those three vendors could make or break you wedding, so you must hire professionals for those services. you can cut costs on food. the guests do not have to have new york steaks! you can go with chicken, etc. the food and the facility are usually the most expensive part of the wedding. so find a church or reception site within your budge!! same with other services.... you do not need all roses, you can choose other flowers, the invitations end up in the trash, so
don't go all out on the invites. just use common sense and plan your wedding within your means and don't get crazy on spending money on the things of little value! okay.... i hope these tips help. if you need anything else, just ask joann!!! i pay attention to my brides and are happy to help you not repeat their mistakes. sincerely, joann
